VA Total Disability Ratings for Disabled Veterans Based Upon Unemployability - TDIU

Veterans who are not rated 100% disabled by VA but cannot work may still apply for Total Disability Based Upon Individual Unemployability (also called 'TDIU'). If TDIU is approved, the veteran is paid at the 100% level. To qualify, the veteran has to be rated with one service connected disability at 60% or must have two or more disabilities with a combined rating of 70% or more (and one must be at least at 40%). They must also prove that their service connected disabilities keep them from working.
