Under what California law do Car Dealerships have to disclose that the used car you are buying use to be a rental car?

You might be looking for California Vehicle Code 11713 for your statutory basis, but it is really Ford Dealers Assn. v. Dep't of Motor Vehicles, 32 Cal. 3d 347, 365, 650 P.2d 328, 338 (1982) that is of interest for your question.  In Ford, the Court decided that dealerships needed to disclose a car's rental history to be in compliance with CVC 11713 and some regulations.  The number of cases citing Ford is quite large, so it would take a bit of legal research to where the law stands today based on particular facts, such as was the car advertised, did you ask for a rental history, etc.
