Ivo Labar, a partner in the firm, is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer. He specializes in complex commercial litigation, including class actions, media and employment law. Education and Experience Ivo graduated with honors from the California Maritime Academy in 1994 with a B.S. in Marine Transportation and a Third Mate's license. He went on to serve as a deck officer in the United States Merchant Marine and a reserve officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. Ivo received his J.D. with honors from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Following law school, Ivo served as a law clerk to the Honorable Charles A. Legge, United States District Court for the Northern District of California. Ivo is a contributing editor to the Rutter Group's California Practice Guide: Federal Civil Procedure Before Trial http://www.ruttergroup.com and is a regular speaker at seminars regarding new developments in federal civil procedure. Ivo also lectures at local law schools in media law and civil procedure.
