About Gavin Elliot

I was born in London, England and emigrated to the United States of America as a child. I attended the University of Florida on scholarship where I obtained a Bachelor of Sciences in Public Relations, a Minor in Business Administration and graduated from the Honors Program. I attended the University of Miami School of Law on scholarship. While at the University of Miami I was a member of the Mock Trial Team and Law Review. I graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 2001.

I moved to Orlando after graduating and began my practice at the Orange County Public Defender’s Office, where I achieved a successful trial record, and had the privilege of training incoming attorneys. While at the Office I added to my qualifications by becoming a member of the Bar for the Middle District of Florida

I was recruited from the Orange County Public Defender’s Office by a private firm. I had early success with the firm and quickly achieved senior advisory and litigation positions. I continued with the firm and became lead counsel for the managing partners varied real estate related business interests, which interests generated monthly revenues in the millions. While at the firm I added to my qualifications by becoming a licensed real estate agent.

I subsequently left the firm and started my own practice and title company. My practice focused on real estate and commercial transactions and litigation. The title company and law firm rose from start ups to generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue, during the recent financial downturn.

I joined the firm of Schlegel Caplan, LC, now Caplan & Associates, P.A., on March 31, 2008. While at Caplan & Associates, P.A., I have been involved in all phases of litigation up to and including trial and appeal.

Caplan & Associates, P.A is a firm that provides its clients with the attention of a small firm and the results of a big firm in the areas of bankruptcy, family law, real estate, and litigation.
