Associate Dean Royer practices civil rights, education and employment law. Dean has represented employees in race and gender discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower and wrongful termination claims. He has appeared in both state and federal court. Dean has also provided pro bono service to individuals and groups. He worked with community groups to challenge human rights violations in Haiti and advocated for a sweatshop-free ordinance in Berkeley. Dean also defended individuals charged with infractions related to a transportation fare strike. Dean received a B.A. from Tufts University in 1996 and his J.D. from New College of California in 2004. He obtained his license to practice law in December of 2004 and joined the firm in August of 2005. Dean is also a musician and the proud father of one son.
