After graduating from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in 1998, Curtis pursued his legal education at the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia, where he graduated, cum laude in 2002.  Before even graduating from law school Curtis gained experience representing criminal defendants under Georgia’s Third Year Practice Act. Curtis was first admitted to the Georgia State Bar in November 2002 and practiced in Savannah, Georgia where he appeared on behalf of individuals at mediations, motion hearings, final hearings and trials in criminal defense, domestic relations and personal injury matters. In 2005 Curtis sat for and was admitted to the Texas State Bar and subsequently moved back to Austin, Texas where he has devoted his practice exclusively to criminal defense in the County and District Courts of Travis and the surrounding counties.  Through this consistent specialization he has become intimately familiar with the unique components of criminal justice system in Central Texas.  He regularly secures jail releases, works with prosecutors to reach settlement agreements and appears on behalf of defendants at a number of administrative license revocation hearings, motion hearings and trials.
