About Betsy Peterzell

Betsy Vance Peterzell has over 25 years of legal and business experience covering most aspects of doing business from the start-up venture to the well-established corporation. Her practice includes mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring and buy-outs, equity and debt financing including private placements, bridge, venture capital, and asset-based lending, intellectual property including copyright, trademark, trade secrets and confidential information protection, business and organizational structuring including start-up, joint ventures and strategic alliances, leasing and licensing, executive compensation and employment agreements, non-competition and other restrictive covenants, corporate governance, franchise and distribution, investment advisor representation, shareholder arrangements and disputes, commercial contracts, sales and warranty issues, commercial real estate, dispute resolution, and general business and corporate law. Betsy's clients include U.S. and international businesses in most industry segments including technology, entertainment, sports marketing, healthcare, food service, alcoholic beverage, publishing, retail, franchising, manufacturing, telecommunications, marketing/advertising, printing, manufacturing, engineering, investment advising, construction, real estate, software, finance, private equity funds, utilities, insurance, transportation, and other industries. Atlanta's first microbrewery was established under her legal guidance, including capital funding, licensure, and contracting. She also collaborated with other attorneys in the publication of 'Georgia Corporate Forms.' Prior to joining Chorey, Taylor & Feil, Betsy practiced at Powell, Goldstein LLP and Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan LLP, two of the largest law firms in Atlanta. She was also the corporate partner in a boutique litigation law firm, an experience which provided perspective for creating business solutions to resolve disputes and assessing and developing programs for risk prevention and management. In addition to her law practice, she also has significant experience in business from running her own companies, including a manufacturing and engineering company. She founded The Executive Breakfast Series, was Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of The American SIDS Institute, served on the Committee to approve applications for the National Women's Business Certification, and has been a member of numerous business and finance organizations. Betsy has also been part owner of a local restaurant, a merit badge coach for Boy Scouts of America, and she has chaired the SIDs Annual Black-Tie Ball.
