About Amy Stanley

Amy Stanley advises clients on economic and legal developments in international trade. Her particular focus is in international trade related to Asia, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and Dispute Settlement at the WTO. Ms. Stanley has working knowledge of Thai, Hindi, and Spanish and studied at Chiang Mai University in Thailand. Prior to joining IBC, Ms. Stanley interned at the USTR where she worked in the environment and Southeast Asia offices. She participated in the Andean and Malaysia FTA negotiations and assessed public submissions on the Korea FTA. Ms. Stanley contributed to the interim environmental reviews and drafted policy positions prior to the 2005 Doha ministerial in Hong Kong. Ms. Stanley earned her J.D. at American University, Washington College of Law. While in law school, Ms. Stanley founded and served as President of the WCL International Trade Law Society and President of the Federalist Society. She completed her B.A. from St. Olaf College where she studied political science and philosophy. Ms. Stanley is Vice Chair to the ABA International Trade Law Committee, and a member of the ABA Export and Customs committees. She is editor of the ABA International Trade quarterly newsletter and also a regular contributor. She also has been published in the 2007 ABA Year-In Review.
